2005 Mother's Day & Father's Day Surprise!
In Australia, Canada & the United States, kids have a special day to honor their mothers and fathers. This special day was first observed more than 50 years ago! Children make greeting cards and gifts for their parents. Or they buy lollies or flowers.
Here is a fun project to make at home in your back yard. Our friend "Valérie" shows us how she made a great gift for her mum and dad. (Valérie lives in Canada).
Summer Surprise Garden
STEP #1 Find an old plastic container like a water bottle.
STEP #2 Ask Mum or Dad to help you cut off the top half of the water bottle. Then fill the bottom half with dirt.
STEP #3 Decorate your "Summer Surprise Garden" with flowers and leaves.
"That's it! Now give it to someone special...like mum or dad!"
